About Alma Latina

Alma Latina is a non-profit 501c (3) group based out of Long Beach, California that promotes self esteem and cultural awareness through the medium of dance. Our focus is on ballet folklorico mexicano. the group ranges from ages 5 years to adult. Alma Latina has presented dances from over 12 regions of Mexico. Our purpose is to educate and provide a pleasant, supervised experience for children and adults to learn the cultural and historical significance of folklorico (music, tradition, costume, celebrations, etc.), discipline of dance and appropriate social behaviors for involvement and participation in a group.

Mission Statement

Our focus is on Ballet Folklorico Mexicano with Latin dance influence. Our purpose is to educate and provide a pleasant, supervised experience for children and adults to learn the cultural and historical significance of folklorico (music, tradition, costume, celebrations, etc.), discipline of dance and appropriate social behaviors for involvement and participation in a group.

Cultural Dance Programs

Folklorico Dance Classes

Our Folklorico Dance Classes offer participants of all ages the opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage of Mexico through dance, fostering self-esteem and cultural awareness in a supportive environment.
