Alma Latina is a non-profit 501c (3) group based out of Long Beach, California that promotes self esteem and cultural awareness through the medium of dance. Our focus is on ballet folklorico mexicano. the group ranges from ages 3 years to adult. Alma Latina has presented dances from over 12 regions of Mexico. Our purpose is to educate and provide a pleasant, supervised experience for children and adults to learn the cultural and historical significance of folklorico (music, tradition, costume, celebrations, etc.), discipline of dance and appropriate social behaviors for involvement and participation in a group.
